29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer shall instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury. Lanouett Street Extension, Meriden, CT: On or about June 09, 2014, an employee was exposed to the hazard of being struck by a tree limb being cut from a tree, because an improper rope was used. The employer failed to ensure that employees were adequately trained on the importance of using a rope of sufficient length in developing a plan for removing a tree limb.
