29 CFR 1910.132(f)(1): The employer did not provide training to each employee who is required by this section to use personal protective equipment (PPE): a) Throughout the facility, on or about 11/20/14: Training on the proper PPE such as gowns and masks was not provided for housekeepers required to clean isolation rooms contaminated with Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Vanocomycin Resistant Enterococcus (VRE). b) Throughout the facility, on or about 11/20/14: Training on protective eyewear was not provided for housekeepers working with corrosive cleaning products including, but not limited to, Signet Heavy Duty Non-Acid Washroom Cleaner/Disinfectant and Signet Hard Surface Cleaner, both containing ammonium chloride. Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.
