29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.   The employer does not ensure that employees engaged in roofing activities on low-sloped roofs are protected from falling while working at heights six feet or greater. This violation occurred on or about August 27, 2015, when employees were exposed to fall hazards while installing a parapet wall on the edge of the roof on a commercial building being constructed without any means of fall protection or monitoring system.   Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that all employees performing construction activities at heights greater than six feet are protected from falling.
