29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:   a) Machine Shop; On or about January 21, 2016, six lathes and a grinder were not equipped with a fixed or movable guards to protect against contact with the rotating lathe chuck. The guard may also safeguard against chips or coolant from being thrown at the operator.  b) Machine Shop; On or about January 21, 2016, the employer allowed employees to operate an Emerson Horizontal Bandsaw while having the unused part of the blade unguarded.
