OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a) Throughout the workplace, on or about 01-21-2016, employees used pieces of "seatbelts" in lieu of rigging equipment or slings to lift motors and other large car parts with hoists and forklifts, creating struck-by hazards. b) In the mechanical shop area, on or about 01-21-2016, employees used pieces of "chain" tied together with bolts and nuts in lieu of rigging equipment or slings to lift motors and other large car parts with hoists, creating struck-by hazards. c) In the mechanical shop area, on or about 01-21-2016, employees used a small elevator cart, which had a missing wheel to move motors and other large car parts, creating struck-by or caught-between hazards.
