In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for the violation.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. a) Bay #1, 830 Crowe Road, East Stroudsburg, PA - Employees operated the Pemco Körber Paperlink Ream Wrapper Model 31R (Serial No. P-3635) with three (3) plastic hoods (i.e guards) raised exposing employees to ingoing nip point and rotating part hazards when loading paper into the machine, as observed on or about March 4, 2016. b) Bay #1, 830 Crowe Road, East Stroudsburg, PA - Employees operated the Pemco Körber Paperlink Ream Wrapper Model 31R (Serial No. P-3635) with a side panel removed exposing employees to ingoing nip point and rotating part hazards when clearing jammed paper from the machine, on or about March 4, 2016. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is not required for this violation. The hazardous condition was corrected during the inspection.

29 CFR 1910.179(j)(3): A complete periodic inspection of crane(s) had not been conducted in the past 12 months. a) Bay #1, 830 Crowe Road, East Stroudsburg, PA - A top running double girder Industrial Crane & Equipment Company 3-ton gantry crane used intermittently to lift equipment and large rolls of paper was not adequately inspected in the past twelve (12) months exposing employees to struck-by hazards, on or about March 4, 2016. b) Bay #2, 830 Crowe Road, East Stroudsburg, PA - A top running double girder Shaw Box 5-ton gantry crane (Serial No. 36272) used intermittently to lift equipment and large rolls of paper was not adequately inspected in the past twelve (12) months exposing employees to struck-by hazards, on or about March 4, 2016. c) Bay #3, 830 Crowe Road, East Stroudsburg, PA - A top running double girder Shaw Box 7 1/2-ton gantry crane (Serial No. 94473) used intermittently to lift equipment and large rolls of paper was not adequately inspected in the past twelve (12) months exposing employees to struck-by hazards, on or about March 4, 2016. d) Bay #3, 830 Crowe Road, East Stroudsburg, PA - A top running double girder Shaw Box 3-ton gantry crane (Serial No. 423647) used intermittently to lift equipment and large rolls of paper was not adequately inspected in the past twelve (12) months exposing employees to struck-by hazards, on or about March 4, 2016. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is not required for the violation. The hazardous condition was corrected during the inspection.
