The electrical equipment shall be so interlocked with the ventilation of the spraying area that the equipment cannot be operated unless the ventilation fans are in operation. On or about June 30 2016; the employer did not have electrostatic hand spraying powder coating operation equipment interlocked with the spray booth ventilation fans.

29 CFR 1910.107(l)(4): Powder Coating - Operation and maintenance. 29 CFR 1910.107(l)(4)(i): All areas shall be kept free of the accumulation of powder coating dusts, particularly such horizontal surfaces as ledges, beams, pipes, hoods, booths, and floors. On or about June 30, 2016, the employer failed to maintain the powder coating spray booth free of the accumulation of powder coating dust.

29 CFR 1910.107(l)(4): Powder Coating - Operation and maintenance. 29 CFR 1910.107(l)(4)(iii): "No Smoking" signs in large letters on contrasting color background shall be conspicuously posted at all powder coating areas and powder storage rooms. On or about June 30, 2016, the employer failed to post the required "No Smoking" warning sign at the powder coating area.
