29 CFR 1910.179(j)(1)(ii): The employer did not perform frequent and periodic inspections as defined in paragraphs (a) and (b) of this section:    a. Shop Area:  On or about October 20, 2016, employees were lifting stone slabs weighing 750 to 1500 lbs. with a Tramrail bridge/gantry crane rated at 10,000 lbs. which had not been inspected.    Abatement Note:  Among other feasible means, overhead cranes should be inspected on a frequent and periodic basis based upon criteria to include, but not limited to:    1.  Frequency and extent of use.   2.  Routine loading in light of maximum limits.  3.  Anticipated wear and tear on the hooks and wire rope assembly.  4.  Environmental conditions (ie. corrosives, hot work, etc.)  5.  After any malfunction or other abnormality where the unit may have suffered damage.
