OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards:    On or about 6/29/2017 in the storage rack area at Signature Offset, LLC, located at  224 Commerce St # 1, Broomfield, CO: Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards from the storage rack system columns, foot plates and horizontal/diagonal struts being visibly damaged.   The racking system was utilized to store pallets filled with various types of paper weighing approximately 1100lbs.

The employer did not protect employees engaged in work 4 feet or more above lower levels.  Employees are required to climb on top of a marathon trash compactor to unclog hoses which feed paper into the compactor, exposing employees to a fall hazard of (8) feet.  This exposed employees to fall hazards.
