On or about July 5, 2017, the employer did not ensure employees were familiar with electrical safety related work places before rewiring the 220V relay on CNC #41. Employees were required to perform electrical work on 220V and did not recognize hazards associated with Electrical Safety Related Work Practices.

On or about July 5, 2017, the employer did not employees utilized electrical safety related work practices while rewiring a 220V relay on the #41 CNC and were exposed to electric shock and arc flash hazards.

29 CFR 1910.335(a)(1)(i): Employees working in areas where there were potential electrical hazards were not provided with electrical protective equipment that was appropriate for the specific parts of the body that needed to be protected and for the work being performed:     a.)    On or about July 5, 2017, the employer did not ensure maintenance employees were protected while rewiring a relay on CNC #41. Employees were required to rewire a relay on the 220V CNC #41 and did not wear the required hand and body protection while verifying zero energy, exposing them to electrical shock and arc flash hazards.
