29 CFR 1904.39(a)(2): Basic Requirement. Within twenty-four (24) hours after the in-patient hospitalization of one or more employees or an employee's amputation or an employee's loss of an eye, as a result of a work-related incident, you must report the in-patient hospitalization, amputation, or loss of an eye to OSHA.  On Monday 24 July 2017 at approximately 8:00 AM, an employee was struck by a material hoist tower section while unloading it from a trailer resulting in a hospitalization. The hospitalization was not reported within 24 hours to the local Area Office of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The Austin Area Office was notified on 26 July 2017 at approximately 5:45 PM.
