29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc.  Foaming department, foaming table for showers no. R36: on or about February 13, 2018, employees accessing rear area of the machine to operate table's up/down control lever were exposed to caught-under hazards likely to result in serious injury due to lowering movement of protruding arms while employee's body was placed under them for reaching the lever. Safeguarding was not provided to prevent employee's contact with moving arms or to prevent employee's access to the area under the moving arms.  Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
