29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc.    On March 28, 2018, in the Kitchen at the food preparation table using a Hobart Food Chopper, Model 84186, an employee was exposed to an amputation hazard from a  3 3/4 inch x 6 inch x 7 inch opening while pushing sliced, chopped cabbage with their right hand in the rotating metal bowl and their hand came in contact with the rotating blade of the chopper.
