1926.300(b)(1): Power operated tools, designed to accommodate guards were not equipped with such guards when in use:  a) Jobsite - On or about 27 JUN 2018, am employee operated a Stihl TS 420 cut-off saw without the proper guard.  Abatement Note: General methods of control applicable for the circumstances include, but not limited to the following:  1) Follow the 2017 version of manufacturer's instructions for the Stihl TS 420, including but not limited to: -Use cut-off machine only for authorized uses. For instance, it is not suitable for cutting wood or wooden objects.  2) Utilize equipment/tools designed to perform wood cutting operations: -Manufacturer instructions for the Stihl TS 420 state that a cut-off saw, even with a wood cutting blade, should not be utilized to cut wood due the increased risk of loss of control and severe personal injury or death which may result from reactive forces.
