29 CFR 1918.65(h)(1): Loads were handled that were not stable, safely arranged and within the rated capacity of the mechanically powered vehicle.  a) 61 Universal Road Paulsboro NJ: Steel plates removed from cargo holds where metal slabs are stowed were not secured to the forks of a powered industrial truck creating an unstable load. On or about 9/16/18.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1918.32(b): The edge of a hatch section, or of stowed cargo, was not guarded by a vertical safety net or other means providing equal fall protection to exposed employees.  a) 61 Universal Rd Paulsboro NJ: The edge of a stowed cargo 20ft above the ground surface below was not guarded by a vertical safety net or other means providing equal fall protection to employees working within 1-5ft from the unguarded edge when removing steel plates. On or about 9/16/18.   NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
