29 CFR 1926.300(a): Hand tool(s), power tool(s) or similar equipment were not maintained in a safe condition:  a) Work site was located at the intersection of Fieldcrest Road and Littleton Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054  Employees were exposed to electrical hazards as they were using a Makita Model 9005B 5" Angle Grinder to tie in a new gas service line that had a broken gear housing on it.  Violation was observed on or about November 13th, 2018.

29 CFR 1926.303(b)(1): Grinding machines were not equipped with safety guards in conformance with the requirements of ANSI B7.1-1970, Safety Code for the Use, Care, and Protection of abrasive wheels, and paragraph (d) of this section.  a) Work site was located at the intersection of Fieldcrest Road and Littleton Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054  Employees were exposed to struck by hazards as they were using 2 Makita Model 9005B 5" Angle Grinders to tie in a new gas service line that were missing their guards.  Violation was observed on or about November 13th, 2018.

29 CFR 1926.303(c)(9): All employees using abrasive wheels shall be protected by eye protection equipment in accordance with the requirements of Subpart E of this part, except when adequate eye protection is afforded by eye shields which are permanently attached to the bench or floor stand.  a) Work site was located at the intersection of Fieldcrest Road and Littleton Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054  An employee was exposed to struck by hazards as he was using a Makita Model 9005B 5" Angle Grinder to tie in a new gas service line while not wearing safety glasses.  Violation was observed on or about November 13th, 2018.
