29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit routes must be free and unobstructed. No materials or equipment may be placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route. The exit access must not go through a room that can be locked, such as a bathroom, to reach an exit or exit discharge, nor may it lead into a dead-end corridor. Stairs or a ramp must be provided where the exit route is not substantially level.    a) On or about 11/19/2018 an employer did not properly maintain  four of the five exit doors located in the garage area of the facility exposing employees to the hazards associated with the obstruction of the emergency exits.    1) Exit door located near the garage doors had the automatic closing hinge detached and was partially blocked with a tire changer and tires.  2) Exit door located next to the oil storage tanks had the automatic closing hinge detached.  3) & 4) Exit doors located in the tire storage area in the back of the building. Exit door 3 had no issues.  Exit 4 had the automatic closing hinge detached and was partially blocked by an air compressor and pieces of shelving.  5) Exit door located on the back wall of the building next to the tire storage racks, had the automatic closing hinge detached and was partially blocked by a dolly, gas grill and buckets.
