29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a)Employees were observed utilizing the northwestern most exterior entrance doorway which was directly adjacent to a perimeter exterior unprotected floors side or edge along the west side of the structure, in that there was an approximately 18 foot section which was inadequately protected by a guardrail system equipped with a single 48 inch high top rail only exposing employees to fall potentials in excess of 10 feet.
