29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s):  a)    Serco Chesapeake Facility: On about 02/04/2020, the Bai Leigh horizontal band-saw serial number 7102226 model number BS350SA used to cut various pipes and plates, the unused portion of the sawblade was unguarded, as a result employees were exposed to a possible amputation or severe laceration.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date.  The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch:  a)    Serco Chesapeake Facility: On about 02/04/2020, the Westward 8 inch bench grinder equipped with two (2) abrasive wheels was not provided with tongue guards to protect employees from a flying debris resulting from a fragmented wheel.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date.  The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
