29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems:  a)  302 Robert Reamer Avenue, Gardiner, MT 59030: On or about September 3, 2020, and at times prior, employees were exposed to cave in hazards while removing a fire hydrant in an unprotected trench measuring 5 feet 8 inches in depth.  The employer failed to have a competent person conduct a daily inspection of the excavation prior to the employees entering the excavation.
