29 CFR 1910.138(a):The employer did not select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. a. For the employees in the warehouse pulling sheets of metal, the employer provided hand protection. The employer failed to enforce the use of the proper cut resistant hand protection to prevent serious injuries due to the razor sharp edges of metal sheets.
