29 CFR  OSH ACT of 1970 Section (a)(1):  The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard:  On or about May 25, 2021 at 2609 190th St, Albion, Nebraska, the Grain Grinder boot pit floor opening was unprotected, exposing employees to a fall hazard greater than 10 feet.  Employees involved in vacuuming the boot pit were positioned in the immediate vicinity of the pit opening for two days.  The opening of the hole was 18 inches wide and 10 feet long.  Among other feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to install a guardrail around the opening to comply with the American National Standards Institute, ANSI, Standard A1264.1-2017, Safety Requirements for Workplace Walking/Working Surfaces and Their Access; Workplace Floor, Wall and Roof Openings; Stairs and Guardrail/Handrail Systems. Railings, Section 3 - Protection of Floor and Roof Openings and Holes.
