Employees used an air compressor where the jacket of the cord separated from the strain relief at the compressor side of the cord, thereby exposing employees to a 110-volt electrical contact hazard.

Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. a) Juan Martinez, at a jobsite located at 645 Zoar Street, Lot 409, Sunbury, Ohio 43074: On and/or preceding February 16, 2022, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from falls while engaged in residential construction activities. Employees were installing the second-floor joists, floor sheathing, and walls, while exposed to fall hazards greater than 6 feet. The employee was not protected from falls by any means, thereby exposed to a 19-foot 3-inch fall hazard. b) Juan Martinez, at a jobsite located at 645 Zoar Street, Lot 409, Sunbury, Ohio 43074: On and/or preceding February 16, 2022, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from falls while engaged in residential construction activities. Employee were working on the first story where the stairway opening was not guarded, thereby exposed to a 9-foot 1-inch fall hazard.
