OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard.  On or about July 27, 2022, and at times prior thereto, employees rode on the back steps of a McNeilus Rear Loader Waste Collection vehicle while it was backing up, exposing employees to a struck by hazard.  Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means of abatement may include, Assign only trained employees to work on mobile waste equipment (Section 6.2.1) as outlined in ANSI Z245.1 - 2017 National Waste and Recycling standard for Equipment Technology and operations for Wastes and Recyclable Materials.
