29 CFR  1910.213(h)(1): The sides of the lower exposed portion of the blade of radial saw(s) were not guarded to the full diameter of the blade by a device that automatically adjusted itself to the thickness of the stock and remained in contact with the material being cut to give maximum protection possible for the operation being performed:  (a) Maintenance Shop: A Craftsman radial arm saw used by employees was not equipped with a self-adjusting guard on the lower portion of the blade, which exposed the saw operators to an amputation hazard, on or about September 12, 2022.  ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

29 CFR  1910.213(h)(4): Radial saw(s) were not installed in a manner so as to cause the cutting head to return gently to the starting position when released by the operator:  a) Maintenance Shop: The Craftsman 10-inch radial arm saw was not installed in a manner that would cause the cutting head to return to the starting position when released, which resulted in exposure to a laceration and amputation hazard, on or about September 12, 2022.    ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
