OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):The employer did not furnish employment, and a place of employment, which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to burn hazards associated with molten metal contacting the hydraulic lines while using a powered industrial truck.   On or about October 13, 2022, molten metal came in contact with the hydraulic lines on a powered industrial truck, rupturing at least one hydraulic line and causing a fire that burned an employee working on a platform above.   Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to ensure that only powered industrial trucks equipment with protection to prevent molten metal from making contact with, and rupturing, hydraulic lines are used when handling and transferring molten metal.
