OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that they were exposed to struck-by and crushed-under hazards of tipping and falling steel coils:   a) On or about 11/3/2022, employees were using a Sortman 6-ton overhead crane to handle coils before placement onto the Fecker decoiler's mandrel. Employees were exposed to tipping and falling coil's struck-by and crushed-under hazards likely to result in serious injury during removal of wooden pallets from the free-standing coils after they were raised into the vertical position and disconnected from the rigging.

29 CFR  1910.184(c)(7):Slings shall be padded or protected from the sharp edges of their loads.  a) On or before 11/3/2022 the employer did not ensure that lifting chains being utilized to move steel coils (weighing over 5000 lbs.) were protected from the sharp edges of the steel coils while in the lifting process.
