29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, were not protected by protective helmets:  a- 3600 Pacific Avenue, Wildwood NJ: Company workers, not wearing hard hats/head protection, were exposed to struck by hazards when working beneath and near overhead cinder blocks, roof joists, tar paper, roof covering material, etc. that had been pulled and partially removed with an onsite excavator during the demolition of a commercial building.  Observed on or about 12/16/22.     NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR  1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  a- 3600 Pacific Avenue, Wildwood NJ:  Workers were exposed to fall hazards, up to and in excess of 8 feet to the ground surface below, when walking and working  at and near unprotected edges of a commercial structure's second floor without the use of fall protection.    Condition observed on or about 12/16/22.

29 CFR 1926.1051(a): Stairway(s) or ladder(s) were not provided at all personnel points of access where there was a break in elevation of 19 inches (48 cm) or more, or no ramp, runway, sloped embankment, or personnel hoist was provided:  a- 3600 Pacific Avenue, Wildwood NJ: Workers were exposed to fall hazards, in excess of 8 feet to the ground surface below, when egressing the second floor of a commercial building using demolition rubble and debris located around,  near the base, and leading up to the second floor of the structure. Condition observed on or about 12/16/22.   NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
