29 CFR  1926.251(a)(1): Rigging equipment for material handling was not inspected prior to use on each shift and as necessary during its use to ensure that it was safe.  Defective rigging equipment was not removed from service.  On or about March 7, 2023, the wire rope slings being used by employees were not inspected prior to use and the defective rigging was not removed from service.  This exposed the employees to a struck-by hazard.

29 CFR  1926.251(c)(16):  Wire rope slings did not have permanently affixed, legible identification markings stating size, rated capacity for the type(s) of hitch(es) used and the angle upon it is based, and the number of legs if more than one.  On or about March 7, 2023, employees were in use of slings that did not have permanently affixed identification markings.  The employees used the slings to lift metal trusses and were exposed to a struck-by hazard.
