29 CFR 1910.134(a)(1): Engineering controls (for example, enclosure or confinement of the operation, general and local ventilation, and substitution of less toxic materials) were not implemented as far as feasible. a) On or about March 21, 2023, inside the Chloroprene unit, the employer did not implement feasible and effective engineering controls that would keep employee's b- chloroprene exposures below the NIOSH Ceiling limit of 1 ppm. An employee's exposure to b-chloroprene was 44 ppm. This is 4400% of the NIOSH Ceiling limit. Sampling was conducted for a period of 18 minutes.
