29 CFR  1910.132(d)(1)(i): The employer did not select and have each affected employee use, the types of personal protective equipment that would protect the affected employee(s) from the hazards identified in the hazard assessment:  a) Erie Steel, LTD, 5540 Jackman Rd. Toledo, Ohio: On or about March 27, 2023, employees tasked with lighting the "RTB" furnace (radiant tube box) with a handheld butane torch during furnace start up, were exposed to serious injury to the eyes, face, head, hands, and torso., in that the employer failed to provide personal protective equipment rated and designed to protect employees from hazards associated with high temperature furnaces.
