29 CFR 1910.107(c)(6): Electrical wiring and equipment not subject to deposits of combustible residues but located in a spraying area as herein defined were not explosion-proof type approved for Class I, group D locations and did not otherwise conform to the provisions of subpart S of this part, for Class I, Division 1, Hazardous Locations: Location: Spray area - Northwest side of building. On or about June 29, 2023 the following instances of electrical wiring and equipment were located in the spraying area and were not approved for use in a Class 1, Division 1, Group D Hazardous Location: a) A junction box was not provided with a cover. In addition, an open knockout was observed on the side of the junction box. b) An electric power drill without a ground pin was used to stir spray finish in an open container within the spray area. c) A flexible cord had external defects (damage to outer jacket or insulation).
