29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  a) Second Ops OmniTurn, "Big Omni", Towpath Machine Corp., 31 Allen Street, Auburn, NY 13021, on or about 8/14/2023, the employer did not guard the rotating part and flying chips from the secondary operation OmniTurn, "Big Omni" operating at approximately 1,000-1,500 RPM.  b) Bar Fed OmniTurn GT-75 Series III, Towpath Machine Corp., 31 Allen Street, Auburn, NY 13021, on or about 8/14/2023, the employer removed the plexiglass guarding used as a viewpoint on the OmniTurn GT-75 Series III exposing employees to flying chips.  Abatement certification is required.
