29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  a.)  General Partitions Manufacturing Corp., on or about September 6, 2023 at 1702 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA:  Employees were operating a Wysong Shear (model #1496) with unguarded hold downs on the shear.  The shear is used to cut metal.   ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below).  This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): The point of operation of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury, was not guarded:  a)  General Partitions Manufacturing Corp. Expander Area, on or about September 25, 2023, the lower half of the automatic circular saw that crosscuts the honeycomb on the Fostoria Infrared Honeycomb Expander System was not guarded to prevent employees from having their hands inside the point of operation while the saw was in operation.  b.) General Partitions Manufacturing Corp., fabrication department, on or about September 6, 2023 at 1702 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA:  Employees were operating a Wysong Shear (model #1496) with a 1/2 inch openings in the finger type guard.  The shear is used to cut metal.   ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below).  This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR  1910.217(c)(2)(i)(a): Point of operation guard(s) on mechanical power press(es) did not prevent entry of hands or fingers into the point of operation by reaching through, over, under or around the guard(s):  a.) General Partitions Manufacturing Corporation- on or about 9/6/23, and times prior thereto, a point of operation barrier guard was not adequate to prevent employees from putting fingers into the point of operations.  This occurred on equipment including,  but not limited to, the full revolution Rousselle mechanical power press (model 1A, serial # 14638).  Employees could reach under the guard and access the danger zone.  ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below).  This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.219(f)(3): All sprocket wheels and chains were not enclosed where they were less than seven (7) feet above the floor or platform:   a)  General Partitions Manufacturing Corp., Expander Area, on or about September 25, 2023:  the chains, used to drive the rollers at the in-feed side of the Fostoria Infrared Honeycomb Expander System, were not guarded to prevent employees from being caught by the rotating parts.  The sprockets and chain were less than 6 feet above the floor.    ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below).  This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
