29 CFR  1910.178(g)(2):  Facilities were not provided for flushing and neutralizing spilled electrolyte, for fire protection, for protecting charging apparatus from damage by trucks, and/or for adequate ventilation for dispersal of fumes from gassing batteries.  (a) 2620 6th Avenue Garden City, CO 80631 Detail shop:  On or about November 08, 2023, and at times prior, employees were exposed to fire hazards and chemical burns from charging a Toyota Electric Model 5FBE15 forklift using a Ferro 1500 series battery charger in that the forklift charging area did not provide materials for flushing and neutralizing spilled electrolyte, nearby fire extinguishers or damage protection for the charging apparatus.

29 CFR  1910.178(p)(1): Powered industrial truck(s) found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe had not been  taken out of service until restored to safe operating condition(s0:  a) Crash Champions Collision Repair at 2620 6th Avenue Garden City, CO 80631 Detail shop:  On or about November 08, 2023, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure powered industrial trucks had been withdrawn from service while in an unsafe working condition in that corrosive buildup was located on the plastic casing of the battery and floor.  This condition exposed employees to serious eye and skin injuries.

29 CFR  1910.303(b)(1): Electrical equipment was not free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that the employer did not ensure the safety of the equipment pursuant to the considerations in sections (i) through (viii) of 29 CR 1910.303(b)(1):  (a) 2620 6th Avenue, Garden City, CO 80631 - body shop: On or about November 8, 2023, and at times prior, employees were exposed to electrical hazards while using a 220 Volt "The Maxi DF-505 Dent Pulling station," to repair automotive body damage, due to the damaged electrical cord on the machine from the A/C receptacle, and from the damage to electrical extension cord on both ends which relayed power to the device.
