29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  a) Hanover Foods Corporation, 1550 York Rd, Hanover, PA 17331, Pretzel Tying Machines ("Twisters") - On or about November 3, 2023, employees who were exposed to caught-in/caught between hazards when working near the roller boards of each of the five American Machine & Foundry Company Pretzel Tying Machines, as the equipment were not guarded to prevent employees from getting their fingers caught between the conveyor belts while the machines were operating.  b) Hanover Foods Corporation, 1550 York Rd, Hanover, PA 17331, Pretzel Tying Machines ("Twisters") - On or about November 3, 2023, employees who were exposed to caught-in/caught between hazards when working near the tying heads ("fingers") of each of the five American Machine & Foundry Company Pretzel Tying Machines, as the equipment were not guarded to prevent employees from getting their fingers caught between the moving parts while the machines were operating.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
