29 CFR 1910.212(a)(2): Guard(s) on machine(s) were not affixed to the machine or secured elsewhere when attachment to the machine was not possible:  a) On or about 01/23/2024, in the Heavy Gauge Sanding Area, the belt sander did not have guards that were affixed to the machine to prevent bypassing, removing, or tampering. The side guard of the belt sander is left open while employees sand parts exposing them to caught-by hazards.  ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED

29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section:  a) On or about 01/23/2024 in the Thin Gauge Forming Area; where energy control procedures (lockout) were not used while employees were unjamming GN thermoforming machines (GN 3625DX & GN 3021C). Exposing employees to caught-by hazards.  ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED  Tomric Systems, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1436722, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 12/09/2019, with respect to a workplace located at 85 River Rock Dr. #202, Buffalo NY 14207.
