29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of Guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  On or about March 13, 2024, the employer did not ensure all portions of the WM K. Stamets Company band saw blade, except the working portion of the blade between bottom of the guide post and the table, were guarded to protect the operators from contacting the blade (point of operation).  The slide guard of the band saw had not been lowered to the piece that was being cut, leaving 6 1/2 inches of exposed blade at the point of operation.
