OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees are exposed to the hazard of patient on staff violence including being physically assaulted by patients utilizing weapons:  On or about April 24, 2024, and at times continuing thereafter, the employer failed to ensure that healthcare providers were protected against life-threatening injuries from patient-on-staff violence including, but not limited to, patients harboring and/or utilizing weapons. During a mental health appointment, a caretaker was assaulted by a patient and stabbed multiple times with a knife that was brought into the facility without detection. The assault resulted in the inpatient hospitalization of the employee with face and upper body wounds.
