On or about August 21, 2024, and times prior thereto employees conducted sheet metal cutting operations to patch an opening at the exterior metal wall of the cotton seed storage building.  Personal Perfective Equipment was not provided to protect employee flying particles.

29 CFR  1910.242(a): Hand and portable powered tools or equipment were not kept in safe condition.    On or about August 21, 2024, and times prior thereto employees conducted sheet metal cutting operations to patch an opening at the exterior metal wall of the cotton seed storage building.  The 4.5-inch disc angle grinder used to cut metal had a defective power switch by wrapping electrical tape around the grinders handle.
