Nakia Engine Compartment: The vacuum used to remove sludge build up from cleaning the engine compartment with volatile flammable solvents was not rated for use in flammable environments. Employees were exposed to explosion and fire hazards.

Nakia Engine Compartment: Ventilation was not provided while an employee used denatured alcohol and Brakleen to clean the compartment. An explosion and subsequent fire occurred when the employee switched on a shopvac to remove bulk debris. The employee was exposed to explosion and fire hazards.
