29 CFR  1910.252(b)(2)(iii): Workers and other persons adjacent to the welding area were not required to wear appropriate goggles, to protect them from the rays when noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields were not used:  On or about April 1, 2025, the employer failed to ensure flameproof screens or shields were used to protect employees working and walking in areas adjacent to the welding areas. Maintenance employees occasionally work in the area and use the bench grinder, and there is a large walkway used by all employees located by the welding area.
