29 CFR  1926.102(a)(1):29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles.  At a commercial worksite located at 6927 N Oak Tfwy, Gladstone MO -- Employees engaged in roofing duties using pitchforks and other various hand tools tearing off the pre-existing roof were not wearing eye protection. This exposed employees to getting shrapnel and debris in their eyes potentially causing injury. This was documented on or about 03/11/2025.  Cheto's Roofing was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1698428, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 3/20/2024, with respect to a workplace located at 5004 NE 56th Ter KC MO.

29 CFR  1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems or a combination of warning line system and safety monitoring system.   At a commercial worksite located at 6927 N Oak Tfwy, Gladstone MO -- employees engaged in roofing duties tearing off a pre-existing roof were not utilizing any kind of fall protection system. This exposed employees to fall hazards causing serious injury and/or death. The slope of the roof was approximately 4:12 pitch. This was documented on or about 03/11/2025.  Cheto's Roofing was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1698428, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 03/20/2024, with respect to a workplace located at 5004 NE 56th Ter, KC MO.
