(a) On December 9th, 2025, at 6320 Ridgeland Drive Bismarck, ND, an apprentice electrician, while assisting a journeyman electrician hanging temporary lighting, was exposed to carbon monoxide at a level of 426.4 ppm on an 8 hour Time Weighted Average, approximately 8.53 times the OSHA PEL of 50 PPM. This exposure was determined by Carboxyhemoglobin calculations.  (b) On December 9th, 2025, at 6320 Ridgeland Drive Bismarck, ND, a journeyman electrician, hanging temporary lighting, was exposed to carbon monoxide at a level of 370.5 ppm on an 8 hour Time Weighted Average, approximately 7.41 times the OSHA PEL of 50 PPM. This exposure was determined by Carboxyhemoglobin calculations.

29 CFR  1926.55(b): Feasible administrative or engineering controls were not implemented to reduce employee exposure(s) to a substance(s) listed in Table 1 or 2 of §1926.55:  (a) On December 9th, 2025, at 6320 Ridgeland Drive Bismarck, ND, employees installing temporary lighting in an enclosed, below ground parking garage were exposed to an 8-hour Time Weighted Average (TWA) for carbon monoxide of 370.5 ppm (7.41 times the PEL) and 426.4 ppm (8.53 times the PEL) from a Wacker Neuson propane powered heater (model HI400 HD G, Serial No. 20105742) operating in the space. The employer did not implement engineering and/or administrative controls to reduce employee exposures to carbon monoxide to below the 8-hour Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 50 ppm.
