29 CFR 1910.106(e)(2)(iv)(d): Flammable liquids were not drawn from or transferred into vessels, containers, or portable tanks within a building only through a closed piping system, from safety cans, by means of a device drawing through the top, or from a container or portable tanks by gravity through an approved self-closing valve:  2200 E 76th Ave Unit C 300 Denver, CO 80229 (immediate use storage area across the hall from the production lab):  On or about March 26, 2026, the employer failed to ensure that employees properly transferred flammable liquids using approved methods. Heptane was pumped from a barrel into a plastic bucket, then subsequently poured from the bucket into a large metal pot. Pouring flammable liquids from plastic containers can potentially expose the vapors to ignition sources such as but not limited to static electricity. This condition exposed employees to fire and explosion hazards.

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6)(ii): Except as provided in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(7) and 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(8), the employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, would provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical:  a)  2200 E 76th Ave Unit C 300 Denver, CO 80229 (spectrometry lab):  On or about March 26, 2026, the employer failed to ensure that employees were protected from health and safety hazards associated with chemicals in that an unknown substance was observed in an unlabeled 1 quart plastic bottle.  b)  2200 E 76th Ave Unit C 300 Denver, CO 80229 (production lab):  On or about March 26, 2026, the employer failed to ensure that employees were protected from health and safety hazards associated with chemicals in that a chemicals stored in plastic 55 gallon barrels had labeling which only indicated the name of the chemical inside.
