29 CFR  1910.30(a)(1): (a) Fall hazards. (1) Before any employee is exposed to a fall hazard, the employer must provide training for each employee who uses personal fall protection systems or who is required to be trained as specified elsewhere in this subpart.  Employers must ensure employees are trained in the requirements of this paragraph on or before May 17, 2017.  On or about March 27, 2026, the employer did not ensure that employees working from a Snorkel Model AB60JCU articulating boom aerial lift were trained to recognize fall hazards and the proper use of personal fall protection systems at an approximate height of 28 feet above a lower level. Employees used the lift to access and clean overhead crane rails without wearing a body harness and lanyard attached to the boom or basket. As a result, employees were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 28 feet that could result in serious injury or death.
