On or about April 29, 2015, an employee operating the #3 Bander/Strapper in the Planer Mill was injured when the machine's bump plate came down on the employee's left hand resulting in crushing type injuries.
An employee was trying to open valves on the back of a gang saw so that the blade guides could be moved. The saw moved, crushing the employee against the chains. The employee suffered broken ribs.
An employee was changing the teeth on a saw when the chain used in the lockout/tagout procedure broke, allowing the saw blade to fall and strike the employee's head and knocking him out. He fell about 2 feet and broke his right leg. He was hospitalized and had surgery.
