Final narrative
Two maintenance mechanics were adjusting a sensor on a shrink wrapper. The sensor was located under the wrapper table. After adjusting the sensor, the mechanics were moving the table back into position when the table shifted, catching the finger of one of the maintenance mechanics. The employee suffered the partial amputation of the right middle fingertip.
A maintenance technician was troubleshooting the pail lid crimper on the production line in the filling department. The sensor activated and the crimper came down on the technician's hand, causing a fracture and laceration to his left middle fingertip.
