An employee and his coworker were about to change a V-belt on an exhaust fan. They disconnected the power of the fan, but the momentum of the air handler caused the fan to spin in reverse. When the employee attempted to stop the fan blades from moving, his pinky fingertip was amputated. His middle and ring fingers were also injured.
