An employee was flagging traffic at a road construction when an excavator backed over and crushed his lower left leg. He suffered severe lower leg fractures, requiring hospitalization and surgery.

A temporary employee was setting up a roadway construction zone. They were dropping cones from the back of a pickup truck. One of the cones fell and the employee exited the pickup truck to straighten the cone. The pickup truck then backed up and struck the employee causing rib and pelvis fractures.
